INITIATIVES OF SDGs
Specific activities to achieve the SDGs
What are the SDGs?
SDGs stand for “Sustainable Development Goals.”
This initiative is a collection of global goals adopted at the UN Summit in September 2015, to succeed the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that were enacted in 2001. These Global Goals are designed to be met progressively from 2016 through 2030, and are part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The fundamental principle behind the SDGs is to achieve a society where “no one will be left behind” while ensuring that all human beings can fulfill their potential with dignity and equality in a healthy environment .
KYOWA’s policy toward achieving the SDGs and vision of its future self
KYOWA will strive to develop and promote the use of cutting tools for energy-saving manufacturing methods along with mechanical watches that can be disassembled, which are environmentally friendly, as its current business focuses on the one-stop manufacture and sale of precision cutting tools and wrist watches. In addition, KYOWA will implement more stringent production management to reduce instances of excessive production and material purchases, so that it can develop sustainable products while contributing to the regional economy’s sustainability, both individually and together with its business partners and the entire supply chain.
